Obituary

Nathan Alan Collins, 51, of Sharpsburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon July 9, 2023.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio in April 1972.

Nathan is survived by his high school sweetheart Shannon (Sadie) Collins of 35 years, they were married 33 years “this year”; his seven children, Austin Collins, Brandin Collins, Tobby Collins, Prestin Collins, Peyten Sophia Collins, Bristen Lynn Collins, and Lyla Nae-Omie Collins; and his eight grandchildren.  He is also survived by his parents, Gary and LuCinda (Smyer) Collins; his two siblings, Daniel Collins and Sherrie Schroeder; his maternal grandmother, Charlene Smyer; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stoney and Beverly League.

Nathan currently worked as a driver for Rumpke and previously worked in law enforcement for 15 years as a corrections officer. He was a very loving, loyal, and dedicated husband, father, and employee. He was hardworking and reliable. His whole focus was being a good provider for his family. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Smyer; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Doris Collins; and his mother-in-law, Jerry Nae-Omie League. 

Nathan lived in Ohio, Arizona, New Mexico and was living in Kentucky when he passed. 

Nathan and his family were privately cared for by Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
