Noah Logan Obituary

Noah Logan, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

Born in Fitch, Ky. (Lewis County) on May 28, 1930, his parents were the late James Logan and the late Pearl Edington Logan.

Noah’s early education was in a one room schoolhouse at Tar Fork, later graduating from Laurel High School.  He went on to receive his Bachelor’s from Morehead State in 1957, his Master’s in 1959, and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri in 1973.

From 1958 to 1966 Noah taught Industrial Arts at Maysville High School. For a year he taught at the Erie School in Olive Hill. From 1966 to 1973 he taught at the University Breckinridge School.  From 1973 to 1984 he was a professor of education at Morehead State University.  He was a Mason, his home lodge being the Potomac Lodge 782 in Potomac, Ill.  Noah had a dual membership to the Fleming Lodge 112 and the Maysville Lodge 52.  He belonged to the Scottish Rite.  He was a Master Mason in both the Fleming and Mason lodges and also served as a District Deputy.  He was a member of various antique car clubs, and loved Model A Fords and Chevys.  He was a founding member of the Central Kentucky Model A Ford Organization.  Noah proudly served his country in the Unites States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Flora Logan; his son, Nelson Logan and wife Cheri of Marietta, Ohio; his daughter, Teresa Combs and husband Harvey of Louisville; his two grandchildren, Stephen Logan and wife Abbey of Columbus, Ohio and John Combs and wife Rachel of Georgetown; his stepson, Chris (Josh) Carpenter Blythe of Akron, Ohio; his two great granddaughters, Eliza and Nora Logan; his great grandson, Jackson Combs.  He is also survived by his two siblings, Geraldine Fields of Emerson, Paul (Edna) Logan of Laurel Creek.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Joybelle Lewis Logan in 1994.  He was also preceded by six of his siblings, Claude Logan, Homer Logan, Carl Logan, Mary Gilmer, Zelma Hamilton, and Gyenth Solem.

A memorial service for Noah will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Barnett and Pastor Robbie Shrout officiating.

Noah will be privately laid to rest.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, with Masonic Rites being observed at 11:30 a.m.
