Phyllis Ann Spurlock, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Pioneer Trace Nursing. She was the widow of Wilbert Lenville Spurlock.
Born in Mount Carmel on January 12, 1943, her parents were the late Alvin Strode and the late Pauline Thomas Strode.
Phyllis was a homemaker who had worked for U. S. Shoe. She was a special friend of the Hedger family and helped them strip tobacco. She attended the Victory Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two children, Donna Gray and Kenneth (Teresa) Spurlock; three of her grandchildren, Dylan Glascock, Chellie Spurlock, and Stormy Spurlock. She is also survived by three of her siblings, Gene Strode (Melva Sue Priddy), Bonnie Strode Clark, and Wayne (Jeanie) Strode; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Lenville, her husband of 34 years, as well as her parents Alvin and Pauline, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryson Lee Spurlock; and by three of her siblings, Harry Douglas Strode, Alvin Lee Strode, and Mary Francis Doyle.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Shawn Meade and Bro. Randy Hawkins officiating.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell.
