Rickey W. Watson, 68, of Elizaville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Maysville on January 8, 1955, he was the son of the late Clinton Watson and the late Christine “Toadie” Collins Watson.
Rickey was retired from Fleming-Mason Energy after 34 years of service as an operation supervisor. He was a member of the Committee of 101, the Fleming County Golf Course, and The Barn Crew. He was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Vicki Hunt Watson; his three children, Jason (Jackie) Watson, Julie (Jamie) Banks, Lindsey (Ben) Moran; his 11 grandchildren, Ashton, Garrett, Ella, Nathan, Julia, Spencer, Ross, Charleigh, Myra, Layne, and Darcy. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie (Bobby) Cooper; his mother-in-law, Betty R. Hunt; his brothers-in-law, Jerry (Carol) Hunt, Rickey Hunt, Tracy (Kelly) Hunt; his sister-in-law, Connie (David) Elkins; along with several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Danny and Judy Moran and The Barn Crew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Julian Hunt; and his grandson, Evan Jacob Banks.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Rich Anderson officiating.
Rickey will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Danny Moran, Eddie Koehler, Dean Wallingford, David Watson, Gayle Watson, and Jason Watson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Boone-Nickell.
