James Ronald “Ronnie” McRoberts, 83, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born in Muses Mills on August 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Glenn and Reva Cummins McRoberts.
For 15 years Ronnie worked for Hinton Furniture Store in Flemingsburg. For 19 years he worked for himself as a truck driver. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. Ronnie enjoyed bowling and golfing – had a hole in one at Flemingsburg Country Club. When possible he enjoyed attending Tilton Methodist Church. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Anna Belle Story McRoberts; his brothers, Jerry (Patty) McRoberts and Danny (Karen) McRoberts; his sisters, Geraldine Hilterbrand and Bonnie Lou (Willis) Turner; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Austin McRoberts.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Sister Gail Skaggs officiating.
Ronnie will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Wes McRoberts, Larry McRoberts, Greg McRoberts, Randy McRoberts, Jimmie Dean McRoberts, Gene McRoberts, Jr., Michael McRoberts, Meredith Story, and Ferman Perkins.
Visitation will be Tuesday night at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
