Scotty “Duck” Fryman, 78, of Ewing, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Fleming County Hospital.
Born in Bath County on July 6, 1944, his parents were the late Harrison Fryman and the late Olive Mitchell Fryman.
Duck was a farmer who raised tobacco and beef cattle, and milked for himself as well as the Perkins family. He enjoyed playing on the Jabetown Mill Softball Team and the Fryman Brothers Charolais Softball Team. He loved hunting and fishing and being with his cattle. He loved his GMC and Chevy trucks. He attended the East Fork Christian Church.
Duck is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy McCord Fryman; his son, David (Michelle) Fryman; his daughter-in-law, Anna Fryman; his grandchild, Skylar Marie Fryman; his two step-grandchildren, Caleb Flora and Nicole (Les) Heflin; and his two great grandchildren, Trace Heflin and Kendall Heflin. He is also survived by two of his siblings, Larry “Bugs” Fryman and Dorothy (Jerry) Faris; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Mark Fryman; and eight of his siblings, Clifton “Tip” Fryman, Juanita Fryman McCarty, Oliver “Buddy” Fryman, Paul Fryman, Billy Fryman, Raymond “Frog” Fryman, Clay Fryman, and Danny Fryman.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Boling officiating.
Duck will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Kenny Ramey, Scott Bussell, Mark Fryman, Billy Glen Fryman, Marvin Flora, and Terry Fryman. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Fryman, Timmy Fryman, Jeff Fryman, Ronnie Littleton, and Wendell Fryman.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
