Shirley Cooper

Shirley Ann Cooper, 72, of Ewing, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet.

She was born in Fleming County on July 22, 1946, to the late Delmar & Mildred Butler Shields.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, quilting, crafting and sewing. She attended Muses Mill Christian Church.  She loved spending time with the joys of her life, her grandsons, Austin and Alec, and attending their sporting events.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill Cooper; her daughter, Patricia Hart; her grandsons, Austin (Dabney) Hart, and Alec Hart; her brothers, Jack (Joann) Shields, and Rocky (Toni) Shields; her sisters, Joyce Gulley, and Bonnie (Jim) DeAtley; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by special family members, Brenda Hilterbrand, Linda Barber and Harry & Jo Ann Knechtly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Shields, Steve Shields, Richard Shields, and Brian Shields; her beloved mother-in-law, Dora Cooper; special aunt and uncle, Mary Opal and Gene Helphenstine; and her brother-in-law, Ernie Gulley.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 4th at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Reeves  and Bro. Jim DeAtley officiating.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Wallingford Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Thursday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Austin Hart, Alec Hart, Dennis DeAtley, James DeAtley, Jared DeAtley, and Randy Vice.  Honorary Pallbearers include Jack Shields, Rocky Shields, Dr. Samuel Gehring, James Cooper, Robert Cooper and Michael Cooper. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
