Stephen Paul Butcher, 66, of Wallingford, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Maysville on February 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Forrest Butcher and the late Doris Fraley Butcher.
Steve was a master electrician and carpenter, running his own business for 20 plus years. He worked for Licking Valley as a weatherization specialist. Together he and his wife owned and operated B&H Family Store for 14 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and was a Little League coach for years. He was a foster parent for 17 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Hester Butcher; two children at home, Karlee and Sydnee; his seven grown children, Charity (Tim) Butcher-Kersey, Amie Butcher, Erik Butcher, Tonya Whalen, Angel Butcher, Austin Butcher, and Dustin Butcher; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by four of his siblings, Linda (Jim) Cassidy, Donna (Jimmy) Walker, Connie Stockdale, and Angie (Ron) Lawrence; his brother-in-law, Craig Anderson; along with several extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Elijah Butcher; and three of his siblings, Larry Butcher, Shirley Anderson, and Tammy Butcher.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at New Life Church of Christ with Bro. Darren Fizer officiating.
