Thomas Newell “Tommy” Bigelow, 59, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Fleming County Hospital.
Born in Maysville, Kentucky on May 14, 1960, he was the son of the late Thomas Allen “Tom” Bigelow and Winnie Ruth Thomas Bigelow.
Tommy worked as a tool and die machinist at Browning’s EPT for 30 years and at Vogalsang in Mt. Sterling for six years. He enjoyed fishing and sports and was a “huge Louisville fan”. He was a family man who loved to research things and loved to cook.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amanda Cooper Bigelow; his son, Carter Thomas Bigelow; and his daughter, Payton Shae Bigelow. He is also survived by his sisters, Jackie (Jerry) Lowe and Teresa (Greg) Arrasmith; his sister-in-law, Devona Dotson; his father and mother-in-law, Bobby & Debbie Cooper; his nieces and nephews, Ashley Ross, Sara Arrasmith, Cooper Dotson, and Campbell Dotson; his great niece and nephew, Lucy Belle Ross and Banjo Casper Jack Ross; along with many friends and extended family members.
In addition to his parents Tom & Winnie, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Marcella Cooper.
Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 2, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Layne Wagner officiating.
Tommy will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Roger Hedger, Sam White, Bill Richard Thomas, Tony Reid, Kyle White, Steve Wells, Mark Hampton, Jesse Bush, and Shannon Fultz. Honorary pallbearers include Carter Bigelow, Cooper Dotson, Campbell Dotson, Bobby Cooper, Greg Arrasmith, and Tommy’s Vogelsang work family.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
